How to use

Drop a video file onto the page or click to browse. The first and last frames load automatically as PNG previews. Use the scrubber, type a timestamp, or press the arrow keys to step through frames one at a time. Switch between PNG (lossless, larger) and JPEG (smaller, near-identical quality) using the toggle. Click download and the file saves to your device with a timestamp filename.

Why qixapp frame extractor

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your video is never uploaded to a server, never saved anywhere, and never seen by us or anyone else. It works offline once the page is loaded. There's no account, no signup, no watermark, and no file size limit imposed by us, only what your device can handle.

FAQ

Is this really free? Yes. No paywalls, no signup, no watermark. The site shows ads to keep the lights on, but the tool itself is unrestricted.

Why doesn't my video load? Some codecs (notably HEVC/H.265 and certain MOV variants) aren't supported by every browser. Try converting to MP4 with H.264 encoding, or use a different browser. Chrome and Edge support the widest range.

What's the difference between PNG and JPEG? PNG is lossless, meaning every pixel is preserved exactly. JPEG is smaller (often 3-5x) with imperceptible quality loss for most content. Use PNG for design work or when you need the exact original; use JPEG for general purposes or sharing.
